Adolescents (16+)

There are many challenges and rewards that occur in adolescence that can impact cognitive and psychosocial development. Adolescence is also a period of transition that entails questioning, self-discovery, and difficult decision-making. I work with a wide range of issues that may be preventing you from functioning effectively in school and relationships with peers and family. Sometimes you need a space outside of your parents/guardians where you feel comfortable expressing your thoughts and emotions. Issues that I work with are attachment difficulties, developmental trauma, adverse childhood experiences, self-regulation, disruptive behaviours, and addiction.

Individuals
Life does not always go as planned; challenges can arise that are not within our control. Overcoming these difficult times without the proper tools and support can be overwhelming. Having a safe space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and concerns can minimize stressors. Individual therapy offers a confidential environment to discuss and resolve challenges you are experiencing. I provide one-on-one support to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your behaviours. As well as develop effective coping strategies to manage emotional distress or difficult situations. I work with a wide range of issues, such as anxiety, depression, mood disorders, conflict in family relationships, dating and relationship issues, grief and loss, and trauma.
Couples

Childhood experiences can surface in your adult relationships and prevent you from developing secure connections with others. This can lead to a disconnect and contribute to various issues within relationships. I primarily work from an attachment and EFT perspective. We all have developed an attachment style that dictates how we attach to our partners. How partners find and attach is often done from an unconscious level. Understanding each other’s attachment styles can help bring awareness to the connection. Working together can help resolve painful emotions, change self-destructive habits and behaviours, improve communication, and restore balance in your relationship.
